First Sign Of Storms For Central & Northern QLD

First Sign Of Storms For Central & Northern QLD

Storm season seems to be trying to start early this year as conditions begin to warm up. Earlier this week thunderstorms developed through Central West and Southern inland QLD now forecasts are confident of widespread activity through Central and Northern districts on Sunday and Monday. The strongest instability is indicated through eastern parts of the Central West, Central Highlands & Coalfields where some storms could be severe with damaging winds, heavy rain and large hail. Given steering winds are from the West this activity that develops inland should push East and reach the coast as well. The Herbert & Lower Burdekin, Central Coast, Capricornia, Wide Bay & Burnett have a good chance of showers, some storms coming through from the West and with overnight rain areas.
