⚠️🔴Today a strong trough is producing widespread rainfall across large parts of Victoria including the South and West Gippsland district. A low pressure system will develop over Northern parts of the state tonight and slowly move East South East on Saturday through until early Sunday bringing widespread rain and storms to Victoria.

⚠️🔴This low is expected to produce increased rainfall and embedded thunderstorms with areas of very heavy rainfall across the West & South Gippsland district. Rainfall totals of 100 to 200mm are forecast across the district - especially on the ranges.

⚠️🔴This heavy rainfall could lead to significant life threatening flash flooding and and moderate major flooding in these locations - Licola, Dargo, Heyfield, Rawson, Maffra, Sale, Traralgon, Lake Wellington, Lake Victoria and possibly Bairnsdale and Lake King.

⚠️🔴Rivers and creeks include - Mitchell River, Avon River, Macalister River, Thomson River, Latrobe River, Traralgon Creek and South Gippsland Rivers.

👉Everyone in this area should closely monitor weather warnings and conditions during the next 3 days. Low lying camping grounds and caravan parks near creeks and rivers you should be on high alert for potential fast flowing rapid rising flood waters.
